To date, there are about 785,777 registered Covid-19 cases worldwide.

Of these cases, 582,355 are still active cases.

Many countries have resorted to either a full or partial lockdown to curb the spread of Covid-19.

Another effective way to address this is by contact tracing – an effective method in tracing individuals who is infected with Covid-19.

In fact, researchers have advocated the use of digital contact tracing in battling this deadly virus.

What is contact tracing?

Contact tracing is essential in identifying relevant contact information of a person infected with Covid-19.

Basically, it remembers important information about your symptoms and location. In case anyone in a similar location is infected with the Coronavirus, one can be easily notified.

Recently, Singapore launched a contact tracing mobile app called Trace Together to curb the spread of Covid-19.

The app works by exchanging short distance Bluetooth signals between phones to detect other users in close proximity.

Other countries like China, South Korea and Israel have also started some form of tracking measures to curb the spread of Covid-19.

In fact, South Korea got the entire situation under control by extensive testing, as well as efforts to isolate infected people, trace and quarantine their contacts.

As such, Eber has also decided to launch a contact tracing feature for any business to use so that everyone can contribute our effort to suppress the spread.

This can also help to build confidence in your customers once your business reopens.

How does Eber’s contact tracing work?

Eber’s contact tracing is a digital form for your customer to fill up at the entry of your business premises.

This can work for any business – be it a restaurant, a spa outlet or a retail store.

There are 3 default questions for customers; their name, contact number and table size or how many friends they are with.

You, as a business owner, can decide to ask for additional questions based on the nature of your business. For example, questions about symptoms, travel history, and etc.

In addition to that, customer’s temperature can also be taken at this point and to be stored.

The team at Eber is working on automating the temperature taking process. If you are interested to learn more about this, just reach out to us.

The submitted data is then stored into an isolated database and businesses should remove them within 14 to 30 days. The data is not submitted as your marketing list.

How does contact tracing help?

There are 2 main objectives and benefits for your businesses to implement contact tracing at their premises while Covid-19 is still spreading.

Especially since some sources are claiming that this pandemic could last until the end of 2020.

First, if any one of your customers is tested positive, you can hand over the information to the authorities and quick action can be taken to help stop the spread of the virus.

Other customers will be informed about their exposure and will be able to seek medical examination immediately.

Secondly, it helps to build your customers confidence in spending more time at your premises. They know that everyone on the same premises are screened.

This will improve customers’ experience as they can rest assured that businesses are taking the necessary measures to limit the spread of the virus.

We believe that together we can do our part in curbing the spread of the coronavirus.

*This service is free to use for any business owners – whether or not you’re subscribed to Eber.

Just fill in this form and we’ll be in touch.
